I've spent my career making complicated things clear.

I've worked across formats — newspaper columns and magazine features, public radio reporting, college classrooms, commissioned history, and eLearning design. The through line in all of it is the same: take something complex, find its shape, and give it to people in a way they can actually use.

I'm drawn to projects that require both structure and sensibility — where getting it right matters, but so does making it feel right. I bring analytical rigor and genuine curiosity to everything I work on, along with a sense of humor and a high bar for craft.

Technology has been part of my thinking since the Mac Classic days at community college in the Bay Area, when I first understood that tools could amplify ideas. That curiosity never left. I've written, voiced, and edited public radio stories; built this website from scratch; designed SCORM-compliant eLearning in Articulate Storyline and Rise; and worked with LMS platforms, audio editing software, Synthesia, and AI tools — not because I had to, but because I wanted to understand how they work and what they make possible.

One project that shaped me deeply: I was brought in to research, organize, write, and self-publish a commissioned local history — working from primary source documents to build a narrative that honored a community and the people who trusted me with their story. It taught me everything about finding coherence in complex, unwieldy material, and about the responsibility of telling other people's stories with care.

I've rebuilt my professional path more than once, always guided by the same instincts: follow the interesting work, learn through doing, and make things that hold up.
